Everyday hypnotic states-

Remember the last time you became so deeply absorbed in something interesting that you lost track of time? Or found yourself gazing into space not really thinking of anything?  These are examples of naturally occurring hypnotic states that accompany so many routine activities. We go in and out of them every day. We just don't normally label them as hypnosis! When you come to see me, it's my calming voice and the carefully chosen words I use that allow you to go into hypnosis.

Pleasant and relaxing-

As you've already experienced hypnosis, you'll know that it's pleasant and relaxing. Your mind calms down, your thoughts settle and you may become aware of a general feeling of ease. It's an entirely natural state that gives your body a chance to rest and internal processes like your digestion, heartbeat and pulse rate the opportunity to normalise.

The therapy bit-

Hypnosis by itself is enjoyable, but it's what you do with it that's important. This is the therapy part of hypnotherapy. After discussing your problem or habit with you during our first session, I'll use the most effective therapy techniques to ensure that you can overcome whatever's troubling you in the shortest possbible time. That's usually around three sessions. And once we've finished, you won't need to come back for 'top-up' sessions!

You remain in total control-

Forget Paul McKenna. Forget Derren Brown. You remain in total cotrol when you're in hypnosis. And despite popular belief, you can't be made to say or do anything you do not wish to.

You'll usually hear everthing that I say. I say usually, because as you already know from everyday trance states, it's quite natural for your thoughts to occasionally drift off elsewhere.

Once you've closed your eyes, you could choose to open them again at any time. But I guarantee that you'll find the experience so relaxing, you won't want to until the end of the session.
